2 Corinthians 4:17

But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. […] So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” -2 Corinthians 4:7-10; 16-18 ESV⠀

God is not trite in speaking these words to us through the apostle Paul. He was not making little of our struggles, but putting them into perspective – in light of the Gospel!⠀

Because of Jesus, our suffering is only temporary and our temporary struggles are used by God for His glory and for our good in ways we cannot see but last forever. ⠀

By grace through faith in Christ, this hope is ours. Put your faith and all your trust Jesus. Remember there is so much unseen work God is doing right now. Will you continue to trust this promise even when you can’t see his power at work?⠀

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” -Hebrews 11:1
