This self portrait will forever be a favorite. It will always remind me of the quarantined, socially distanced, unrushed summer we enjoyed here in our apartment and the hours I spent on the deck with coffee, Jesus, Layla, and my plant babies. ⠀
Amidst the changes, the unrest, the pain, the chaos, and confusion we’ve witnessed and experienced here in the Twin Cities, Luke and I have held even tighter to finding joy in the small things, and of course, in the one big thing that matters most: faith in Jesus Christ. ❤️⠀
This summer was marked by so much spiritual growth for Luke and me. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we learned to cling to His Word and truth and not our own thoughts and feelings. We grew out of some spiritual immaturity and into new areas of maturity. Luke said it so well: “It was ALL because Jesus’ power. We simply cooperated with His will and way.” ❤️ We experienced firsthand that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there truly is freedom! (2 Corinthians 3:17)⠀
So, as we transition into fall, I’m sad that it means Minnesota winter is approaching, but I’m grateful to be walking into a new season with deeper trust in God than ever before, a stronger marriage, and of course a sweet kitty. ❤️
