Philippians 4:6-7

When feeling anxious, how do we respond in a godly way?⠀

God doesn’t just tell us NOT to be anxious. He tells us HOW in Philippians 4:6-7, but also 8, which says:⠀

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”⠀

According to these three verses, we respond to anxious thoughts with praise and gratitude, humbly asking God for help… by replacing anxious thoughts with the Word of God (whatever is true, pure, lovely, etc.). We can find rest for our souls and minds in the promise that God’s great peace will guard our hearts when we call out to Him in our anxiety.⠀

We can cling to this promise! We can know it is always true, because our God is faithful and never changes! 🙌🏻🙌🏽🙌🏿⠀

Sweet friend, if you have not yet put your faith in Christ, give your soul rest. These promises can be yours. Simply accept His free gift of grace, trusting He is who He says He is: our one true God and loving Savior! Bring your anxieties to Him, your mistakes, failures, regrets… the things you hold too tightly too. Regardless of what is happening around us, freedom is always found in Him! What’s holding you back?⠀
