Scripture Memory Tip

I came up this idea during my quiet time last week! It’s probably already been done, but wanted to share with you all. 😊⠀
⠀
Why is it important to memorize Scripture?⠀
⠀
God commands us to meditate on His Word day and night in Joshua 1:8. That word ‘meditate’ in the original Hebrew means to murmur or ponder – to talk, tell, or utter. In Colossians 3:16, we are commanded to have the Word of God dwell richly in our hearts. Meditation in the Christian sense is not a mindless activity. It’s quite the opposite! It’s intentional and it transforms our lives.⠀
⠀
I am so grateful that in a culture where truth is relative and often twisted, I can rest in knowing God’s Word is true. Always. But, in order to rest in His truth, we have to know what it says. We have to have it stored in our hearts and listen to the voice of God as spoken through Scripture before our own thoughts, opinions, and feelings.⠀
⠀
I’ve been working more on Scripture memory this year than any other year and more than any other year, I’ve experienced how the living and active, God-breathed Word transforms our lives. ⠀
⠀
I hope you’ll join me in meditating on God’s Word, storing it in your hearts, and experiencing His peace which surpasses all understanding!
